“My name is Jessica Bauters. Three years ago, I had the good fortune of being coworkers with Charles Nelson at the time when I was planning my wedding. Always a friendly, dedicated and talented photographer at WNDU-TV in South Bend, Ind., Charles was eager to help me out when I was looking for someone who was more than an acquaintance to officiate my wedding.

My husband-to-be, Fred, and I wanted the person who married us to be someone who could turn into a new friend. We wanted the person who married us to be able to bring a personal touch to our wedding ceremony. Charles was perfect for the job.

So over the next year or so, we got to know him and his wonderful family. It was a blast. When it came time for us to plan the ceremony, we told Charles we wanted something short and sweet. Low key but true to our relationship together and our personalities. Charles came back to us with a rough draft of his “sermon.” It was touching. It was funny. It even included Beatles references, which was just one of the many interests we and Charles had in common. It was just what we wanted.

Our ceremony included these words from Charles, a reading from Tuesdays with Morrie by my husband’s cousin, and the vows that Fred and I had written for each other. Charles handled the wedding with a warm professionalism that made me proud to know him and so grateful to have him as a friend. Everything about that day was perfect, and Charles was a big part of that. He even inspired my dad to become a licensed minister so he could officiate my cousin’s wedding.

I highly recommend Charles to officiate your wedding, as he will bring the fun and personal touch to your ceremony that will make it unforgettable for both you and your loved ones.
